ASNT Training Program(RISE) 소개

ASNT에서 도입하는 리더쉽 프로그램의 일종으로 보인다. 15개월 과정의  Training이라 등록하는 과정과 마치는 과정이 만만치 않을 것으로 보이지만, 만약 이수한다면(한국인으로) 거의 없는 기회를 잡은 셈이니. 비파괴 쪽으로 경력을 쌓으시려는 분들은 이수를 고려해 보면 아주 좋을 것으로 보인다. 몇몇개의 제한 사항은 다음과 같다.

1) 왠만하면 10년 미만의 경력자일 것

2) 이수하는 동안 Membership을 유지하고 졸업이후에도 최소한 3년간은 유지할 것

아래는 영문으로 되어 있는 전문이다 

Participant Commitment: As a RISE participant, you will agree to maintain your ASNT membership during your tenure in the program and for no less than 3 years following graduation. You agree to attend all in-person sessions and complete all required work to graduate. And because ASNT volunteer leadership is the foundation upon which our Society was built, participants agree to actively engage in volunteer roles for ASNT or their local sections for three years following graduation from the program. The RISE leadership team will coordinate your volunteer activities to take best advantage of your skills, interests, schedule availability, and to meet the greatest needs of the Society. Should I Apply? RISE is intended for individuals who are in the beginning of their NDT careers (preferably no more than ten years’ experience) AND have a genuine interest in shaping the future of NDT and ASNT. Applicants can apply either with full employer support (including time away from the office and travel expenses), or with limited support (their time away only) requesting ASNT grant funds for travel expenses. Successful participants will be graduated with a Leadership Development Program certificate respected for future resumes and armed with the skills and knowledge necessary to ensure they are prepared and capable to confidently lead ASNT and NDT into the future. The deadline for Applications is May 15.

괜찮은점은 일단은 교육비가 공짜라는 건데, Travel 비용이나 기타 체류 비용은 지원이 안된다. 일부 비용은 제한되어 있는 Fund로 지원이 가능할 것으로 보이는데 그 여부를  Application 작성 시 명기하게 되어 있다.(교육만 공짜고..예를 들어 미국 Conference에 참여해야 한다면;;) 일단은, 한국에서 가능할지 궁금해서 지원하는 프로세스를 따라보기로 했다. 일단은 5월 15일까지가 Deadline인데 아직은 좀 여유가 있지만 오늘 Reminder 메일을 받은지라. Enrollment 가 가능할지 한번 시도해본다.

자기소개와 비슷한 양식의 서류를 작성해서 보내면 검토 후 연락을 주는 형식으로 보인다. 15개월 동안에 3번의 In-person meeting + Conference를 참석을 해야하는데 위에서 이야기 한데로 참석하는 비용은 공짜지만, 나머지는 회사 지원이나 아주 제한된 ASNT의 도움을 받아야 할 듯..과연 한국 비파괴 협회에서 조금이라도 도와줄지..의문이다. 

이유를 구구절절이 써야하는데. 개인돈으로 간다고 생각하면 편할 듯. 한국에서 하면 혹은 Internet으로 최종 지원하고 뽑혀도 가능할 거 같은데. 미국을 가야하는 식으면 힘들거 같다. 암튼 비파괴만 전문으로 하시는 분들이나 회사지원이 빵빵하신 분들은 지원하고 교육 받고 ASNT에 조금(3년..) 기여하면서 인맥도 쌓으면 좋을 것으로 보인다. 많은 분들의 지원을 바란다.
