Piping Inspection code
많은사람 들이 알고는 있지만 제대로 공부하지 않는 STND중에 하나다.
해당 code의 용도는 code 에 익히 써져 있는대로 "Inspection, repair, alternation and rerating of in-service piping systems"이다 즉, 뒤에 서술하겠지만 In-service되는 상태에서의 검사를 위한 STND라는 말이다.
현재 최신 Edition은 2009년으로 파악되며 Edition 관련 사항은 아래와 같다.

다만 지금 내가 보고있는 version의 경우 2003년판이다. 최신본이 없다.ㅋ 그래도 크게 바뀐부분은 나중에 check 해보기로 한다.
-Special note
여러 사람들이 뺴먹는 실수긴 하지만 Special note부분도 꼼꼼하게 살펴야 전체적인 code 의 변경사항이나 general한 사항을 뺴먹지 않을 수 있다. 예를 들어 "Generally, API standards are reviewed and revised, reaffirmed, or withdrawn at least every five years. Sometimes a one-time extension of up to two years will be added to this review cycle. This publication will no longer be in effect five years after its publication date as an operative API standard"와 같이. 최소한 5년 마다 갱신한다거나, 5년이상 지나면 No longer effective하다거나 하는 내용은 좀 새겨둘 필요가 있다.

아래 부분도 마찬가지다 여타 STND와 비슷하게 Effective하게 되는 기한 즉, 6개월에 대하여 나와있다.
다만 다른 것이 있다면 piping code이기 떄문에 Grays period기간에 적용되는 항목에 대하여 Edition을 명시하라고만 나와있다. why? 적용하는 물품이 piping 하나이므로, ASME와 약간 다르다.
ASME는 Maker는 6개월후에 Effecivei 함에도 불구하고 최신 Edition을 적용한다고 나와있다.
또한 ASME와 마찬가지로 edition 및 case 추가를 위한 통로가 마련되어 있다.
ASME Code case처럼 의견 제기를 하고 관련 의견을 반영할 수 있다고 하겠다.
this API standard may be used beginning with the date of issuance
shown on the cover page for that edition, revision, or addenda. Each edition, revision,
or addenda, to this API standard becomes effective six months after the date of issuance for
equipment that is rerated, reconstructed, relocated, repaired, modified (altered), inspected,
and tested per this standard. During the six-month time between the date of issuance of the
edition, revision, or addenda and the effective date, the user shall specify to which edition,
revision, or addenda, the equipment is to be, rerated, reconstructed, relocated, repaired, modified(altered), inspected and tested.
